On the occasion of the famous Festival International Cervantino in Mexico, the French ensemble Les Cris de Paris organize a tour of four concerts in Guanajuato and Mexico-City.
To accompany them, they invite their long-time companions, the stage director Benjamin Lazar, the orchestra Les Siècles and the singers Chantal Santon, Marc Mauillon or Lisandro Abadie.
They will represent France, country honoured by this 45th édition of the Festival Cervantino on the subject of Revolutions, with three programmes conducted by Geoffroy Jourdain :
– ¡ Scandale !, a mock trial where composers of revolutionary works, from Machaut to Ligeti, appear for their musical misdemeanour
– the oratorio Israel in Egypt by Handel, the sight of the rebellion of the Hebrew people against the Pharaoh
– Histoire du soldat (The Soldier’s Tale) by Stravinsky, written in 1917, with seven instrumentalists, Benjamin Lazar as the narrator and Lisandro Abadie as the Devil
